4. Further development of study programs
The further development of the degree programmes takes place through centralized and decentralized mechanisms.
The faculties are responsible for the quality of their degree programs and use the established procedures for regular, event-related curricular and structural adjustments to the degree programs. The quality criteria catalog is also available as a reference framework during this development phase.
The central committees (Senate or Senate Commission for Studies and Teaching) can intervene in a regulatory capacity. If, in the course of the quality cycle, it is determined on the basis of the annual quality reports and the evaluation of the fulfillment of the quality criteria that quality assurance is in question, the committees can take measures at various escalation levels (see Statutes for the Assurance and Development of Quality in Studies and Teaching).
The corresponding implementation of the measures is monitored and followed up by the central quality officer.
The OVGU follows the self-image of considering study programs as fundamentally quality-assured and therefore actively excludes study programs from the quality development system if the quality-assured further development fails.
With a positive evaluation of the quality criteria for each degree program by the central committees, a new quality cycle and cycle is started.
